𝙀𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙍𝙀𝘼𝙇 𝙇𝙄𝙁𝙀 𝘼𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙄𝙙𝙞𝙤𝙢𝙨 (Carola) Teaching English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) to adult professionals already living immersed in an English-speaking country can sometimes get tricky. These students are already using the language to their given capacity, much of which is textbook-type grammar stuff. When I found The Slangman Series, it was an answer to prayer because it teaches students how to understand and use idioms/slang. My students were a bit worried when they saw the title; thinking that they would be learning rude or vulgar phrases. Unfortunately, the mayority of textbooks that offer American English idioms/slang focus on Business terms and/or rude or vulgar phrases. FINALLY, with this series, something decent and current that can offer playful, yet very useful, lessons!
